THIBODAUX, LA (AP) — Nicholls State University has appointed an interim business school dean and announced a search committee to hire the permanent replacement next summer.
The Daily Comet’s Jacob Batte reports an eight-person search committee comprised of Nicholls faculty and community business leaders will conduct a nationwide search and interview candidates this winter. The committee expects to make a job offer in the spring with the new dean starting July 1.
Marilyn Macik-Frey will take over as interim dean of the College of Business Administration.
The Texas-native, who served as assistant dean last year, takes over for former dean Shawn Mauldin, who accepted a job at Mississippi State University in January only to stay at Nicholls and retire in August. Mauldin served as business dean since 2005.
