JACKSONVILLE, LA – Seaonus Stevedoring announced Bill Burns has been hired as the new Director of Business Development and Customer Service. “We are excited to add Bill to the SSNO team and confident that his skill set and talent will directly benefit our customer base,” Charles Tillotson, Seaonus’ Chief Commercial Officer, said.
As Director of Business Development, Burns will be responsible for continuing to develop Seaonus Stevedoring-New Orleans’ (SSNO) book of business while ensuring and maintaining SSNO’s unique culture and commitment to its customers.
Burns received a BS in Marine Transportation from State University of New York, Maritime College at Fort Schuyler and joins Seaonus with 38 years’ experience in the maritime industry. He began his career with Mobil Oil Corporate and most recently worked with Coastal Cargo as the Vice President of Sales & Marketing covering the areas of New Orleans, Houston, and Pascagoula. Burns’ knowledge of the industry and already established relationships with many of Seaonus’ customers will enable an easy transition for the New Orleans’ operations where he will be a tremendous leader for that market, company reps said.
Burns is currently a member of several industry groups, including the Vice President of the Houston Maritime Arbitrators Association, a member of the ITMA (International Transportation Managers Association), GHPB (Greater Houston Port Bureau), Propeller Clubs of Tampa and Houston, and a chapter member of the U.S.M.M.A. (United States Merchant Marine Academy) Houston Chapter.
Seaonus also announced the addition of Joseph Lala as the Operations Manager to its New Orleans location. Bringing Lala into the organization provides the opportunity to fill an important role in operations management focused on best practices and customer service, company reps said.

Lala joins Seaonus Stevedoring-New Orleans with over 39 years of experience in breakbulk stevedoring and terminal related operations. His extensive knowledge of commercial terminal operations will be important in maintaining customer trust and effectively create solutions that are inherent to operational procedures, company reps said.
