CHALMETTE, LA – The St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation (SBEDF) is welcoming Bayou Urgent Care to St. Bernard Parish.
SBEDF says it was instrumental in helping the new business open in the Parish, and that the health care clinic represents a $1 million investment in St. Bernard and brings with it 6 professional jobs with the hopes of adding more.
“I am very pleased to welcome Bayou Urgent Care to St. Bernard,” said Andrew Jacques, the executive director of SBEDF. “Attracting a new business like this to the Parish will have a ripple effect throughout the community, improving the economy and quality of life for residents. This is going to be a very exciting year for the St. Bernard business community. Bayou Urgent Care is one of a number of businesses in the pipeline that will be opening in the Parish.”
SBEDF seeks out new and established businesses to locate to St. Bernard and offers them professional services, like helping them identify and take advantage of state and federal incentive programs and connecting them with local workforce resources.
“We are grateful for the assistance provided by the St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation,” said Dr. Greg Fernandez, the Chief Medical Officer and founder of Bayou Urgent Care who has spent his career as an emergency room physician. “It has been my dream to open an urgent care facility for more than a decade, and I’m thrilled that we’re now calling St. Bernard Parish home! We’re enriching St. Bernard’s healthcare offerings with care for patients with aliments not severe enough for the emergency room but in need of quicker attention than scheduling an appointment with a primary care physician.”
Bayou Urgent Care is located at 901 W. Judge Perez Dr. in Chalmette.
It is open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
