NEW ORLEANS – The Sazerac Company is releasing a premium coffee liqueur inspired by the rich coffee culture of New Orleans. Columbo Coffee Liqueur takes its name from Columbo Bitters, which were sold by L.E. Jung, early proprietors of Peychaud’s Bitters in the late 1890s. Columbo Coffee Liqueur will be available at the Sazerac House through spring 2020 before becoming available in other markets.
“With Columbo Coffee Liqueur, we see an opportunity to create a delicious spirit that caters to the growing affinity for coffee-flavored items while also staying true to the Columbo brand’s origins in New Orleans, long known as a hub for coffee culture,” said Jana Ritter, marketing manager at Sazerac.
Sazerac is one of America’s oldest family owned, privately held distillers with operations in Louisiana and nine other states plus global operations in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, India, Australia and Canada.
