BATON ROUGE (AP) — George Rodrigue Studios will donate 15 Steinway practice pianos to the LSU School of Music & Dramatic Arts.
WBRZ-TV reports the pianos, valued at $125,000, will be unveiled during a ceremony on Monday that will include brief remarks from representatives of the renowned Louisiana artist's Foundation of the Arts.
The ceremony is open to the public and will also include a performance by Kana Ishii, a student at the LSU School of Music, who will play the iconic "Blue Dog Piano" for the crowd.
The event started at 12:00 p.m. at the School of Music on LSU's campus near the North Gates.
