BATON ROUGE – The American Council of Engineering Companies of Louisiana presented Brian Moldaner with the 2020 Robby Cangelosi award during the 2020 ACECL Fall Conference.
The Robby Cangelosi award recognizes the accomplishments of a young professional engineer who is contributing to the engineering profession and demonstrating the ability to positively impact the community through professional accomplishments and community involvement.
The Metairie office manager for T. Baker Smith, LC, Cangelosi is an active volunteer for several nonprofit organizations and contributes significant time and energy to local and state public efforts to improve the quality of life in the greater New Orleans area.
When asked how he would describe his job to a third grader, Cangelosi said that “civil engineers are superheroes. We can move people places quicker than ever before imagined, turn small streams into big lakes, build the tallest buildings in the world, save entire communities from floods or drought, turn open water into new land and protect fragile ecosystems from disappearing before our eyes.”
“Brian is a dedicated and passionate engineer doing great things for Louisiana,” said Doreen Brasseaux, president and CEO of ACECL. “We are proud to recognize his contributions not only within our industry but for his efforts to improve his community,”
