NEW ORLEANS – RiverWorks Discovery will host educational event for high school students titled “Who Works the Rivers” at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019 at the Port of New Orleans, 1350 Port of New Orleans Pl.
This national outreach program, originally developed by AEP River Operations, was adopted by the National Rivers Hall of Fame and the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium in 2010. RWD is a coordinated effort, which brings together community leaders, museums, the for-profit industry, nature centers, educators, and the general public in recognition of the role our rivers have played and continue to play in our nation’s future. The goal of ‘Who Works the Rivers’ is to introduce high school juniors and seniors to the importance of waterborne transportation and the diversity of career paths available on the river. RiverWorks Discovery is supported by over 170 funding partners.
