NEW ORLEANS – The River Oaks Hospital Outpatient Program announced a new partnership with local yoga studio, Transform NOLA, to offer Yoga of 12-Step Recovery (Y12SR) in their Dual Diagnosis Outpatient Treatment Program.
The program begins today, Wednesday, March 23, 2016.
Yoga studio reps said Y12SR is a rich and powerful framework for integrating the wisdom of yoga and the practical tools of 12-step programs. Guided by its theme, “The Issues Live in the Tissues,” Y12SR meetings are available all over country and the curriculum is quickly becoming a feature of addiction recovery treatment centers.
Transform NOLA owner, Mia Oramous, said she is the only locally certified Y12SR practitioner, and River Oaks Hospital reps said the hospital is the first treatment center in New Orleans to incorporate the Y12SR curriculum.
