Richard Branson To Announce Development In Virgin Cruises

MIAMI (AP) — British business magnate Richard Branson is announcing the next step for Virgin Cruises in Miami.

         A news conference is scheduled for Tuesday. Branson announced in December he would launch the cruise line, which joins a strong Virgin compound of a record label, an airline and even space travel, among others.

         Details about the announcement are vague, but a news releases promises "a very Virgin kind of arrival" by the billionaire that would "make waves" at the Perez Art Museum, which is located off Biscayne Bay.

         Virgin Cruises President and CEO Tom McAlpin will join Branson at the event, as well as several prominent guests.

         McAlpin joined Virgin Cruises in December and was President of Disney Cruise Line and The World, Residences at Sea.
