METAIRIE, LA – Baudry Therapy Center | BRIO recently launched its new Return to Sport program, a four phase analysis that provides injured athletes evidenced-based care and gives them the confidence they need to resume athletic activity.
“When an athlete comes in injured, our team of physical therapists utilize several reliable tools to measure ability and clearly identify when they are ready to initiate a safe return to sport,” said Richard Baudry, Owner of Baudry Therapy Center | BRIO.
The program begins with a physical therapy evaluation to identify the injuries that cause the pain and dysfunction keeping athletes off of the field. A spectrum of tests, including Functional Movement Screen, Y-Balance Test, Hop Testing, combined with Move2Perform analysis gives a full picture of an athlete’s readiness to return to sport.
“Through the Return to Sport program, we are able to test the athletes’ entire chain of movement and provide their physician with clear, reliable data to help them sign off on their patients’ ability to resume activity,” said Baudry.
“I have personally experienced BRIO's Return to Sport program after a knee injury limited my time on the tennis court,” said Howard Brenner, MD. “BRIO's evidence-based program tested my entire chain of movement and gave me the proper data, education, and confidence I needed to know when my body was ready to return to the court. I believed so much in BRIO that I later enrolled my son who was injured playing football and required surgery. As a former patient, parent, and physician, I can confidently recommend BRIO's Return to Sport program to any athlete looking for the training needed to safely return to sport.”
Patrick Willis, Brother Martin High School lacrosse player said, “BRIO’s Return to Sport program pinpointed the areas that I really needed extra emphasis and it gave my parents and my coaches the confidence to allow me to return to Lacrosse. I gained more confidence and I felt like I was seeing more gains than others with the same injury. The therapists at BTC | BRIO helped me to get faster and stronger than I was before I got hurt.”
Lacrosse parent, Robin Bryant said, “It’s heartbreaking to see your child get hurt on the field and even more heartbreaking to see how devastated they are to have to sit out for the season. Enrolling Jack in BRIO’s return to sport program was the perfect answer for him. The movement and performance tests they conduct were able to provide us and Jack’s doctor with the confidence that he could safely return to lacrosse. I would highly recommend BRIO’s return to sport program for any parents in my situation.”
