NEW ORLEANS – Tennis superstar Serena Williams, 36, and fiancé Alexis Ohanian, 34, co-founder of Reddit, are getting married this week at the Contemporary Arts Center, according to PEOPLE Magazine website.
The Daily Mail reports the wedding will be a $1 million affair held on Thursday, Nov. 16.
A source tells PEOPLE wedding guests are flying into New Orleans as early as Wednesday. Rumored guests include Beyoncé, JAY-Z, Kris Jenner and Prince Harry's girlfriend, actress Meghan Markle. The star-studded wedding guest list is also rumored to include Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria and pop singers Kelly Rowland and Ciara.
The Daily Mail reports that the wedding is being held amid such secrecy that the 250 guests have been informed only of the city where it will be held and not yet the venue. Guests will not learn the details until Thursday morning.
The couple are exchanging vows less than three months after the birth of their first child together, Alexis Ohanian Jr., on Sept. 1, almost two years after they began dating in 2015.
In early November, the 23-time Grand Slam champion gathered with her friends and family for an all-out girls weekend in New York City, where guests wore all white.
Williams and Ohanian announced their engagement in December 2016. Talk of a wedding location started in October, when reports surfaced that the two had taken a brief trip to New Orleans to scope out potential venues (with their Yorkshire Terrier, Chip, in tow).
The nuptials also come shortly after Williams made her first red carpet appearance following baby Alexis’s birth, at the Glamour Women of the Year awards in New York City on Nov. 13.
Williams has at least one connection to New Orleans—high-profile sports fitness trainer Mackie Shilstone, based in New Orleans, who has worked with the tennis champion for ten years.
