Renaissance Publishing Awarded Top Honors By International Regional Magazine Association

METAIRIE, LA – The International Regional Magazine Association, IRMA, presented Acadiana Profile Magazine with nine awards, and Louisiana Life Magazine with four awards during its 36th annual conference held recently in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

IRMA, an international organization consisting of 34 regional magazines, aims to support and promote regional publishing worldwide and advocate ideas openly throughout member magazines. Beginning in 1960, Gus Weiner of Down East and Peter Sykas of Vermont Life spent a day on a boat trading ideas beneficial to the growth of both magazines and soon other regional magazines joined to become what is now known as IRMA.
