BATON ROUGE (AP) — Louisiana's recreational red snapper season comes to a close this week.
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) said the season will close Friday at 12:01 a.m.
The state fall red snapper season opened Nov. 20
That gave anglers a final opportunity to take 88,823 pounds of red snapper that went unharvested earlier in the year. The Fall season provided an additional 41 days of fishing in 2015.
