NEW ORLEANS – Realty Point NOLA, located at 230 Polk St., in the Lakeview area of New Orleans, is collecting items to help assist the thousands of residents impacted by the recent flooding in SE Louisiana.
Recent flooding in Louisiana has resulted in at least 13 people killed, approximately 40,000 homes damaged, 30,000 people rescued and 20 parishes declared federal disaster areas, in what officials have described as some of the worst flooding ever to hit the state.
Realty Point NOLA reps said they saw a need to help the community impacted by this disaster so they decided to set up a “convenient and centrally-located drop-off location in the Lakeview area.”
Realty Point NOLA is making calls to shelters in the affected areas to determine their needs of and will be making one drop each week as they receive donations.
Items being collected Monday – Friday, from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., through the month of August, include water, clothing, bedding, toiletries and non-perishables.
If there is still a huge need for convenient drop offs in September, Realty Point NOLA will open its doors through September as well.
Realty Point NOLA reps said all those interested in donating can stop by and a Realty Point NOLA realtor will unload the items for you. Realtors will be at the site all day every weekday, making it convenient for everyone's schedule.
