What are you most excited about in the coming year?

I’m excited to lead NOMAR at a time when our industry is evolving so quickly, especially with AI reshaping how Realtors do business, from marketing to transaction management. This year, I am focusing on strengthening the resources and education we provide our members so they can navigate a changing market with confidence, including helping them understand how to use these new tools effectively. I’m also looking forward to deepening the relationship between NOMAR and our regional MLS partners, building on the work that has been done with ROAM, to make sure our members have the best tools and data available. And honestly, after nearly 30 years in this business, I’m just excited to give back to a community and profession that’s given me so much.

What’s the biggest challenge facing your industry today, and is anything being done about it?

Affordability and inventory remain the biggest challenges in our market, as well as across the country. Rising insurance costs here in Louisiana add another layer of pressure on both buyers and sellers, making transactions more complicated than ever. NOMAR is actively engaging with local and state policymakers to advocate for solutions on the insurance front, and we’re working to equip our Realtors with better data and market insights so they can guide clients through these challenges. We’re also focused on protecting the value Realtors provide, making sure consumers understand what they’re getting when they work with a licensed, ethical professional in an increasingly complex market.
