ALEXANDRIA, LA (AP) — A credit totaling more than $1 million will provide more money to be spent on the Rapides Parish Coliseum renovation project.
The Town Talk’s Richard Sharkey reports police jurors, meeting in committee on Monday, unanimously approved a change order of just over $1 million for the $22.9 million renovation project. While change orders often mean additional costs for a project, this one resulted in savings that can be used for additional work or equipment for the renovation project.
The change-order approval will become official when the full jury votes at next Monday's jury meeting.
Police Jury President Richard Billings said the overall savings will go back into the project.
Billings says the jury is hoping for additional savings that could be used to bolster the Exhibition Hall portion of the renovation project.
