NEW ORLEANS – New Orleans public relations firm Gambel Communications is pleased to announce that Rachel Strassel has joined the team as a communications strategist. The appointment is effective immediately.
As a communications strategist, Strassel’s job responsibilities include media relations, community relations, special event planning and management and social media execution for clients representing a variety of disciplines. Strassel is assisting with myriad clients including Crimestroppers, Greater New Orleans Hotel and Lodging Association, The New Orleans Mission, and Volunteers of America New Orleans. A native of New Orleans, Strassel most recently served as Director of Membership and Volunteer Coordinator at Friends of the Cabildo.

Strassel graduated from Loyola University with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and a minor in Political Science. She lives in Metairie and is actively involved in the New Orleans community through organizations such as the New Orleans Chamber and Jefferson Chamber of Commerce. Strassel is the co-founder of Cakeup for a Cause, a nonprofit event that donates feminine supplies and toiletries to New Orleans local shelters and victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.
