NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Purses are going up at the New Orleans Fair Grounds for the final 14 days of this racing season as a result of better than expected pari-mutuel handle and an increase in video poker revenue.
The track, in a news release Wednesday, said purses for that two-week period will be increased by 10 percent per race.
The purse increase will go into effect March 6.
