“PSA stands for ‘Professional Skill Advancement,’ and that is our objective,” says Valarie Roy, CEO. “Both of our small businesses partner with a number of industry sources to provide education and an investment in employees, which leads to company growth for our clients.”
In 2007, Valarie purchased PSA, an existing company in Shreveport, where she was the Director of Training and Grant Management, assisting clients with improving their employee work experiences by utilizing her healthcare experience and knowledge of Louisiana Workforce practices. Today, the company includes four main training divisions: Healthcare, General Business, Hospitality, and Safety.
“Our immediate focus is helping the Greater New Orleans hospitality sector recover to pre-pandemic strength via training for both new and returning employees while also identifying financial solutions for obtaining and maintaining qualified employees on a sustainable level,” says Valarie.
From offices in North and South Louisiana, PSA can help Louisiana employers receive grant funds for their training via the Incumbent Worker Training Program through the Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC). The company’s partnership with the LWC and Valarie’s extensive understanding of the grant process puts clients at ease. PSA has created over 80 customized and 20 small business Incumbent Worker Training Grants for Louisiana employers’ worth over $30M.
PSA has several partnerships with schools, universities, and workforce solution vendors, which broadens the scope of possibilities available to local companies trying to advance employee skill levels.
