LAKE CHARLES, LA (AP) — As site work continues on Cameron LNG's plant expansion in Hackberry, company executives are looking to expand the facility a little more.
Cameron LNG executives announced Tuesday they have initiated the pre-filing review with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to add two more trains and a fifth full containment storage tank to the expanding facility.
The American Press reports the proposed additions would increase the facility's LNG production by 9.97 million metric tons per year.
If approved by FERC officials, Cameron LNG's latest expansion would boost the plant's total LNG export capacity to nearly 25 million metric tons per year.
