Property Tax Payment Deadline Extended Until Monday

NEW ORLEANS – The City of New Orleans issued a reminder that Monday, February 1, 2016, is the payment deadline for 2016 property taxes. Residents are strongly encouraged to pay their property taxes online or by mail on or before Monday, Feb. 1 to avoid long lines at City Hall.

City Hall will extend its office hours on Monday, Feb. 1, accepting payments from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Because Jan. 31 falls on a weekend, the City will only accept in-person payments on Monday, Feb. 1, and will do so at City Hall from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. All other payments – submitted online or by mail – must be submitted or postmarked on or before Feb. 1, 2016, to receive timely credit.

Residents who intend to pay in person may do so at the Bureau of Treasury in City Hall, Room 1W40, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For customer convenience, the City will provide a drop-off lane at the Perdido Street entrance to City Hall on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
