MARRERO, La. — Priority Health Care has announced that Dr. Anna Villanueva has joined its pediatrics staff.
“We are excited to have such an experienced and skilled nurse practitioner join our family of providers,” said Priority Health chief clinical officer Ryanne Clarke. “We look forward to getting her acquainted with our health center community.”
Villanueva said she enjoys working in the community health center setting.
“I realized that I could use my skills to help people improve their healthcare and that I could make a difference,” she said. “As an FNP I have the educational training to see patients from birth and throughout adulthood. I enjoy working with the pediatric population, and I know how important it is to build relationships with families.”
Prior to joining PHC, Villanueva worked at DePaul Community (formerly Daughters of Charity) Health Centers, St. Thomas Community Health Center, and Mendoza Medical Center. She also worked as a nurse home visitor with Region I Nurse-Family Partnership. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Loyola University New Orleans, and a Bachelor of Science in nursing with a secondary major in psychology from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis.
Priority Health Care is a 5013 Federally Qualified Health Center that provides primary medical care, behavioral health care (mental health and substance abuse), prescription assistance, case management, health education, housing, and transportation services.
