Pre-Bid Opportunity, Matchmaking For Contracts At New Orleans International Airport

KENNER, LA – A pre-bid meeting for prime and sub bidders interested in bidding on the various bid package scopes of work for the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport’s new North Terminal project will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at the Crowne Plaza New Orleans Airport Hotel, 2829 Williams Blvd., in Kenner, at 9:00 a.m.

         Registration is not required to attend this event, and there will be a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) matchmaking session following the pre-bid meeting.

         The Airport Project includes a new 650,000 square foot, 30-gate terminal, a 2,000 space parking garage and related facilities and projects. Prime subs on this project will be subcontracting with DBE firms as part of the plan to meet or exceed the overall project goal of 33.09% DBE participation.

         Hunt Gibbs Boh Metro and Parsons Brinckerhoff completed a review of bids received on May 28, 2015, based on the 60% construction documents. The bids came in significantly over budget. Therefore, all bids have been rejected.

         HGBM will solicit new bids based on the 100% construction documents. Changes to the bidding process include:

         All contractors are invited to bid this project even if they didn’t submit a preliminary bid at the 60% CD level.

         The bid due date for all prime bid packages is August 6, 2015, by 2:00 p.m. All bids must be submitted via hard copy, no electronic submissions will be accepted.
