Postlethwaite & Netterville Announces CEO Transition Plan

NEW ORLEANS – Postlethwaite & Netterville, APAC (P&N), a leading CPA and consulting firm, announced a formal transition plan for the role of CEO and Managing Director.

Dan Gardiner, CPA, CGMA, a current P&N Director, has been selected as the incoming Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. Gardiner will assume the role in May 2018.

Gardiner will work closely with P&N’s current CEO, Bill Balhoff, over the next year before he formally transitions. Balhoff, who joined P&N in 1976, has served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for the last nine years. He will remain in a leadership position within the firm in the future.

“Dan is a proven leader,” says Balhoff. “He has strong technical skills and great business insights. I have worked closely with Dan for many years and I have no doubt that he will continue to lead P&N forward without losing sight of the values upon which this firm was built.”

Gardiner was a member of the Postlethwaite & Netterville Assurance Services Group from 1995-2000. After an eight year hiatus from the firm, where he worked for a regional consumer packaged goods and distribution company as a Corporate Controller and a publicly traded international leasing company as a Financial Reporting Manager, he rejoined P&N in 2008 as a member of the Consulting Services Group. He was promoted to Director in 2011, and currently leads the P&N Tax Services Group. In addition to his professional experience, Gardiner is actively involved in the profession and the community, including his roles as the current President of the Baton Rouge Chapter of the LCPA, Trustee and Finance Committee Chair for St. Aloysius Parish, Finance Committee member of the Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement, former Board Member of City Year of Baton Rouge, and Louisiana School for the Deaf Foundation. A graduate of Louisiana State University, Gardiner and his wife Shawna have three daughters.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead such an innovative and high quality firm,” Gardiner said. “P&N’s growth over the years has been tremendous, and we remain focused on providing the best service to our clients. I am proud of the firm we have become and excited about where we are heading next.”
