Positive Job Review For Louisiana K-12 Public Schools Leader

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Louisiana's education superintendent has received his latest positive evaluation from the state's K-12 public education board.

The state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education reviewed John White's performance in a closed-door session Wednesday, as it's done in previous years. The board doesn't release its findings publicly.

Board President Gary Jones simply announced: "The superintendent's evaluation was satisfactory for this year, as it has been every year I suppose."

White announced on Twitter that he received an evaluation of 3 on a 4-point scale, what he described as an "effective: proficient rating." That was the same rating he received last year.

Louisiana's education superintendent oversees policy decisions that affect more than 700,000 public school students. White, who is paid a $275,000 annual salary, has been in the job since January 2012.
