PINEVILLE, LA (AP) — Plastipak Packaging President and CEO William Young says the company will make a $9 million investment to expand production capacity at its manufacturing plant in Pineville.
In a news release Wednesday, Young and Gov. Bobby Jindal announced the expansion, which will create 20 new jobs averaging $40,000 per year. The Plymouth, Michigan-based company makes rigid plastic containers for the food, beverage and consumer products industries.
As part of the expansion, Plastipak will add three production lines in Pineville. Installation of the new production lines will begin in the third quarter of 2015, with an expected completion by the end of the first quarter of 2016. Hiring will also begin in the third quarter of 2015.
Louisiana Economic Development began working with Plastipak on expansion plans in December 2014.
