NEW ORLEANS – Escape My Room is an interactive game and museum in New Orleans where up to 7 players are locked in a room for one hour. They must work together to discover clues and solve puzzles in order to escape before the time is up. It’s great for friends, families, and corporate team building events.
Escape rooms are a new genre of entertainment and tourist attraction which have spread around the world since first becoming popular in Japan in 2013. The real world escape room games were originally based on video games.
Escape My Room in New Orleans will grow to form a collection of various escape rooms, all narratively centered around an eccentric New Orleans family whose home was demolished to make room for the new hospital complex in Mid-City. A silent partner has made these artifacts available for the first time.
The Mardi Gras Study can be booked now through September 30, and it follows the story of Odette DeLaporte—a reclusive matriarch who needs your help recovering a treasure which went missing a long time ago. The room features heirlooms dating back to the earliest Carnival parades and enchanting objects which hold generations of family secrets.
Timed entry tickets can be purchased online at for $28 a person. Tickets grant you entry to the family museum/waiting room, and the Mardi Gras Study escape room.
Escape My Room, located at 701 Loyola Ave., is produced by Andrew Preble in collaboration with Michelle Calabro.
