NEW ORLEANS – U.S. News & World Report and The Best Lawyers in America© released its 2016 “Best Law Firms” rankings this week, and Phelps Dunbar was rated on the national level as well as locally for its excellence in the practice of law.
Eight of Phelps Dunbar’s Third Coast offices received accolades, with six practice areas ranking nationally and 88 areas receiving regional recognition.
Phelps Dunbar’s Railroad Law practice was ranked in Tier 1 nationally, while Admiralty and Maritime Law, Commercial Litigation, Insurance Law, Litigation – Labor and Employment and Venture Capital Law were recognized in Tier 3.
Firms ranked in “Best Law Firms” are ranked by practice area nationally and in 170 metro areas. “Best Law Firms,” now in its fifth year of publication, uses a rigorous process to evaluate firms. To be ranked, a firm must have at least one attorney ranked by Best Lawyers and must have received strong feedback from clients and outstanding peer reviews from attorneys at other law firms. Phelps had 87 lawyers from eight offices include in the 2016 listing of Best Lawyers.
