MARRERO, LA – Peoples Community, a (501)c3 nonprofit real estate development organization, has limited tickets still available for its American Dream Home Raffle this July. The home is located in the Westwood Crossing gated community in Marrero, LA. Valued at nearly $200,000, the 1,900 square-foot home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a double car garage.
The features of the house include granite counter tops, 10-foot ceilings with a walk in closet and an oversized yard. Located just 15 minutes from Downtown New Orleans, Westwood Crossing has nearby retail shopping, restaurants and schools.
The winner will be announced during a special community event with Jefferson Parish President Mike Yenni at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Westwood Crossing.

Peoples Community has committed to redeveloping neighborhoods and communities throughout Southeast Louisiana, especially communities in Jefferson Parish. Certified in Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO), Peoples Community has provided homes for more than 200 families in Jefferson Parish for community servants, such as firefighters, police officers, sheriff’s deputies, teachers and government employees.
In addition to developing workforce housing for citizens, Peoples Community has created job training programs, employment and community services for hundreds of individuals and families. Some of the organization’s community initiatives include single-family housing rehabilitation and new construction, commercial property restoration, supportive services assistance, counseling, educational programs, youth intervention programs, and senior citizen programs.
