Pelicans Mascot Pierre Visits William Hart Elementary School Students As Part Of NBA Cares, KaBOOM! Partnership

GRETNA, LA – New Orleans Pelicans mascot Pierre the Pelican engaged and energized students at William Hart Elementary School in Gretna, LA, who helped design their new playground yesterday as part of a partnership between NBA Cares and KaBOOM!

         Yesterday’s “Design Day” was the tip-off event to determine how best to create and catalyze the new playspace.

         More than 30 students were greeted by New Orleans Pelicans dancers, Pelicans Mascot Pierre the Pelican and KaBOOM! leadership before they began designing their future KaBOOM! playground, to be constructed and unveiled in time for the NBA All-Star game in New Orleans on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017.

         Student representatives from each class had the opportunity to get KaBOOM! design tips, learn about playground safety and enjoy fun activities with the Pelicans dancers and Pierre the Pelican.
