NEW ORLEANS – Patio Planters of the Vieux Carre’ will hold its annual Secret Gardens of the Vieux Carre’ tour this weekend, Saturday, Oct. 14 and Sunday, Oct. 15, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This highly anticipated event offers the allure of six private and historic gardens otherwise closed to the public. The self-guided walking tours reveal the use of greenery, and how garden designers take advantage of small spaces to create hideaways that suit the Louisiana climate and the styles of the early Spanish, French, and later Creole architecture. The courtyards will be opened in different locations each day for a self-guided walking tour.
Proceeds from the tours support Caroling in Jackson Square, a free community event sponsored by Patio Planters since 1946.
Tickets are $20 for adults, children under 12 get to tour for free.
Tickets are available the days of the tour at Creole Delicacies, 533 St. Ann St. or French Quarter Gem & Lapidary, 527 St. Philip St. or here.
