Partners Host Community-Based Health Advisory Panel

COVINGTON – Partners in the Stronger Together Advisory Council will host a meeting from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29 at the LOPA Building, third floor conference center, 68190 Hwy. 190 Service Rd., Covington. The goal of the group is to educate the community on the value of preventative health, offer early detection through biometric and cancer screenings and connect patients with resources. This event is the program launch and advisory council meeting.

“In a state ranked 44th for overall health, in a region with higher cancer rates than Louisiana’s average and the state’s highest prostate cancer mortality rate, our community’s health directly impacts our success and quality of life,” said STAC in a statement. “Poor health outcomes do not have to define our region.”

The council aims to elevate the overall health of our population and improve the quality of life of local residents by:

- Sponsors -
  •         Fostering the Stronger Together outreach initiative
  •         Raising awareness of the initiative and the health components it seeks to improve
  •         Addressing barriers and challenges to good community health and wellness
  •         Measuring progress and outcomes of initiative programs
