NEW ORLEANS – The Ogden Museum of Southern Art will host its second annual Magnolia Ball on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at 925 Camp St.
A Patron Party will take place at 7:00 p.m. in Stephen Goldring Hall and the Patrick F. Taylor Library. The Magnolia Ball will start at 8:00 p.m. in Stephen Goldring Hall.
Magnolia Ball attendees, dressed in summer cocktail, will celebrate and benefit the Center for Southern Craft and Design at the Ogden, which serves to highlight the artistic contributions of craft artists and designers from the American South.
This year’s honoree will be New Orleans artist Candy Chang. Renowned for interactive public installations that provoke civic engagement and emotional introspection, her work has examined issues from criminal justice and the future of vacant buildings to personal aspirations and anxieties. Her participatory public art project “Before I Die” has been created in over 1,000 cities and over 70 countries, including on the side of the Ogden Museum.
During this year’s Magnolia Ball, highlights of the evening will include craft cocktail stations and open bars, included with ticket, a silent auction with a brief live auction and music and dancing in two separate locations: the Museum’s terrace overlooking the Central Business District and Crescent City Connection, and the Patrick F. Taylor Library, an historic H.H. Richardson building which will also serve as a patron lounge.
Current museum exhibitions will be open for viewing.
Entertainment will include the Free Spirit Brass Band, The Roamin’ Jasmine, ET’s All-Star Express and DJ Matty.
Featured dishes will be served by Cure/Cane & Table/Bellocq, Carrollton Market, Bao & Noodle, Joel Catering, CellarDoor, The Delachaise, Boucherie, Bombay Club, Broussard's, Fulton Alley, The Grill Room at Windsor Court, Imperial Woodpecker Sno-Balls, and more.
This year’s Magnolia Ball co-chairs are Meaghan Ryan Bonavita, William H. Gammell, Anna Beth Goodman and Megan Kendrick.

There will also be items from Adler’s, Hattie Sparks, Bevolo Lighting, Trashy Diva, Gibson Guitar, and Loomed, as well as dinners for two at Arnaud’s, Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group, and Criollo.
