This year’s honoree will be New Orleans artist Candy Chang.     Renowned for interactive public installations that provoke civic engagement and emotional introspection, her work has examined issues from criminal justice and the future of vacant buildings to personal aspirations and anxieties. Her participatory public art project “Before I Die” has been created in over 1,000 cities and over 70 countries, including on the side of the Ogden Museum.

During this year’s Magnolia Ball, highlights of the evening will include craft cocktail stations and open bars, included with ticket, a silent auction with a brief live auction and music and dancing in two separate locations: the Museum’s terrace overlooking the Central Business District and Crescent City Connection, and the Patrick F. Taylor Library, an historic H.H. Richardson building which will also serve as a patron lounge.

Current museum exhibitions will be open for viewing.
