NEW ORLEANS – Mardi Gras expert Peggy Scott Laborde and renowned photographer Judi Bottoni will host a presentation and book-signing of their collaboration “New Orleans Mardi Gras Moments” today, Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at Octavia Books, 513 Octavia St., at 6:00 p.m.
Laborde and Bottoni’s volume of photographs and essays showcase some of the best moments from today's Mardi Gras celebrations. From the Twelfth Night Revelers heralding the start of Carnival season to Zulu and Rex bringing it to a triumphant close “New Orleans Mardi Gras Moments” highlights what makes the experience unforgettable and how it creates memories that last a lifetime.
Hazel Schlueter is scheduled to perform at the event.
Journalist, activist and international icon Gloria Steinem's highly-anticipated visit to present her memoir, “My Life On The Road,” has been rescheduled to Sunday, December 6, at 3:00 p.m. And, because of the overwhelming interest, organizer Octavia Books is moving the event off-site from the bookstore to the auditorium at the New Orleans JCC, 5342 St. Charles Ave.
Steinem’s book is described as an all-new memoir of a lifetime of listening and learning from people, traveling America and the world.
You must purchase the book from Octavia Books to attend the event.
