NEW ORLEANS – The Louisiana Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (LA AAP) honors Ochsner Hospital for Children Pediatrician, Raj Warrier, M.D., as one of two “Master Pediatricians” in the state of Louisiana for 2017.
The LA AAP defines “Master Pediatrician” as a superb clinician who has contributed to the health and welfare of children in Louisiana for at least 30 years, through direct patient care and child advocacy. Pediatricians given this title are also recognized as having served as an educator and outstanding role model to students and young physicians.
“I would like to dedicate this award to Ochsner Hospital for Children and all its staff for providing a supportive and suitable environment for clinical care, teaching and clinical research,” said Dr. Warrier. “I hope that many more Pediatric faculty members from Ochsner will receive this honor in the future. Thank you to all the medical and clinical staff, and most importantly to all the students and patients through the years from whom I have learnt a lot.”
Dr. Warrier has served as a Pediatrician at Ochsner Hospital for Children for eight years. He received his medical degree from Kasturba Medical College in Manipal, India. Dr. Warrier performed his pediatric residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, and completed two fellowships in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at Children's Hospital of Michigan and Wayne State University in Detroit.
The “Master Pediatrician” award will be presented to Dr. Warrier at the Acadiana Potpourri, August 18-20, in Lafayette, Louisiana.
