NYX Presents ‘Corsets And Cowboys’ To Benefit The American Heart Association

NEW ORLEANS – The Mystic Krewe of Nyx is going “western” to raise money for The American Heart Association at its annual “Corsets and Cowboys” party on Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Sheraton Hotel, 500 Canal St., from 7:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.

Courageous guests can take a ride on a mechanical bull or, for a less challenging experience, they can bid on both silent and live auction items while enjoying some good food and having their picture taken in a western style photo booth.

The Nola Nyxettes will also be making an appearance to mix and mingle with the crowd, as well as to teach some boot scoot and boogie country line dances.

Nyx, the goddess of night, was considered one of the most powerful goddesses in Greek mythology. This year, the Mystic Krewe of Nyx will parade on Wednesday, Feb. 7. The Mystic Krewe of Nyx was formed in 2011 and now holds the honor of being the largest all-female parading carnival krewe in the history of New Orleans Mardi Gras. The Krewe of Nyx was established to unite women of diverse backgrounds for fun, friendship, and the merriment of the Mardi Gras season, reps said.
