Chalmette, LA—Nunez Community College will offer priority registration and registration assistance to veterans and active duty military members.
New and returning students who are serving or have served in the armed forces are invited to register early for the spring 2018 semester and receive enrollment assistance on-campus. Registration assistance will be available in the College’s Student Success Center, located in the Art, Science, and Technology (AST) Building, 3700 Fenelon St., in Chalmette.
Priority registration days for veterans and military members will be:
• Thursday, Oct. 12 – 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
• Friday, Oct. 13 – 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
“We appreciate the service of veterans and military members, and helping them enroll in college is just one way we can thank them,” said Katie Charrier, transition advisor at Nunez. “We are proud that Nunez is a designated Governor’s Military and Veteran Friendly Campus, and we strive to provide a welcoming environment for veterans, active duty military, and their families.”
Charrier is the organizer of the priority registration days and assists students with their transition to Nunez as well as with transfer to four-year universities or exploring career options.
Nunez students who are veterans or military members and need scheduling assistance can attend the priority registration assistance days or make an appointment with an advisor by emailing advisinghelp@nunez.edu.
