CHALMETTE, LA – The Nunez Community College Foundation will hold its Annual Gala on Thursday, February 25, 2016, at the Administration Building, 3710 Paris Rd., in Chalmette, LA, from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
The Nunez Community College Foundation supports the College and its students by funding programs and scholarships. As state support for public colleges in Louisiana has decreased, the Nunez Community College Foundation has played a critical role in ensuring that the College can continue to provide education, occupational training, and cultural enrichment to residents of Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, and St. Tammany Parishes.
Nunez Community College offers 25 programs in academic and technical fields as well as workforce development programs. The College serves approximately 2,500 students each semester, 80% of whom receive financial aid to assist them with the cost of attendance. Foundation funds are used to help students with scholarships, equipment, and activities that the College would not otherwise be able to provide.
The cost of a Gala ticket, $50, includes a tasting of cuisine from some of the finest restaurants in Greater New Orleans, a silent auction, music, wine and beer, and a peek inside the new Administration Building at Nunez, just dedicated in September.
