NEW ORLEANS – The NORDC/NOBA Center for Dance, a cultural community partnership between the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) and the New Orleans Ballet Association (NOBA), will hold onsite registrations beginning Monday, Aug. 21, for after-school dance classes throughout the Greater New Orleans area for the 2017 – 2018 academic year. Registration will remain open on a first-come, first-served basis through Friday, Sept. 22 or until classes are filled. Classes begin the week of Sept. 5 and run through April 2018.
NOBA’s nationally award-winning programs provide tuition-free technique classes in ballet, tap, modern, jazz, and hip hop, as well as other styles of dance, movement and conditioning, for youth ages three through 18. Classes offered vary by location. All classes are approximately one hour, and students are placed in the appropriate class based on both age and experience level. Participants benefit from performance opportunities throughout the year, including fully produced and costumed performances of The Nutcracker Suite at Tulane University’s Dixon Hall, winter concerts at each community site, and spring productions. Students and families are also offered $5 tickets to attend select performances during NOBA’s Main Stage Season of Dance.
Onsite registration begins on Monday, Aug. 21, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at each of NOBA’s seven NORDC partner locations. Registration will also take place on Thursday, Aug. 31, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. for NOBA classes held in partnership with the Broadmoor Arts and Wellness Center.
Interested students are required to submit the following items in person at the time of registration:
