NORDC Invites Residents To Earth Day Activities

NEW ORLEANS— The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) invites residents to an Earth Day Resource Fair and Panel Discussion on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Treme Recreation Center, 900 N. Villere Street.

         The free event is open to the public and hosted by the Outdoor Programs division of NORDC.

         Residents will have an opportunity get information about resources from the following local organizations: Bike Easy, Core USA, Earth Tools, Energy Wise Alliance, City of New Orleans Department of Sanitation, Global Green USA, Habitat For Humanity, and the New Orleans Environmental Education Collaborative.

         A panel discussion focusing on the connection between personal health and environmental health will begin at 7:00 p.m. The event will also feature opportunities for children to paint and take home an herb planter.

         Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, to raise awareness of environmental problems and foster an appreciation for the Earth and the natural environment.
