NEW ORLEANS – Today, NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison, Mayor Mitch Landrieu and City officials will provide an update on the NOPD redeployment strategy on the rooftop of NOPD Headquarters, 715 South Broad St., at 1:30 p.m.
Earlier this year, Chief Harrison unveiled a major redeployment plan with a goal of increasing police presence and reducing violent crime in neighborhoods across the city. Since then, the department has reassigned dozens of experienced officers to the street to accomplish this goal. The redeployment effort builds on progress Chief Harrison has already made to smartly deploy available resources and put as many officers on the street as possible.
