NEW ORLEANS— The City of New Orleans Health Department has issued a notice of noise variance to New Orleans residents in the Marlyville-Fontainebleau neighborhood for Wednesday, January 13, 2016.
A construction company will conduct a pour concrete that will exceed the ambient noise levels beginning at 5:00 a.m. and ending at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, for the Chateau de Notre Dame at 2832 Burdette St. Residents are advised to be patient and expect to hear loud noises outside of the normal hours outlined in the City’s noise ordinance.
Businesses or individuals without a proper permit are prohibited from exceeding ambient noise levels outside of the hours of 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on weekends.
The Health Department is the City agency responsible for enforcing the noise ordinance, issuing noise variance permits and facilitating communication between the permit requestors and the local community.
