No Smoking Allowed? No Problem Inside Royal Coach Mobile Cigar Lounge

NEW ORLEANS – Royal Coach Limousines will debut its Mobile Event Lounge at the private grand opening event for The Jaxson on the River, a new restaurant and event venue located riverfront off of Decatur Street on Wednesday, April 22, 2015.

The lounge will also offer an alternative for guests who would like to smoke outside of The Jaxson during the grand opening event, which happens to fall on the same day the New Orleans smoking ban goes into effect.

“Actually, for our first big event, we only expected to have an ‘open house’ for the Mobile Event Lounge,” says Bob Martin, owner of both Royal Coach Limousines and the Royal Coach Mobile Event Lounge. “It was a surprise that the day of the grand opening just happened to coincide with the day that the smoking ban went into effect. And since the lounge also doubles as a Mobile Cigar Lounge, we decided to go ahead and provide a place for guests to smoke during the event.”

This 1973 Airstream, completely transformed as an all-inclusive, self-contained unit, is a pull-behind mobile lounge featuring luxurious ostrich leather seating, a self-service bar with hookups for a keg and taps, beverage coolers, a buffet area, 4 individually controlled televisions, surround sound, exterior covered seating and a his/ her bathroom.

Because the lounge includes 2 high-efficiency rooftop air purifiers to handle air quality inside, it is easily converted from a mobile cigar lounge to a mobile event lounge for any future clients who may not want cigars or smoking at their event.

Cigars at future events will be offered by Armando Ortiz, the owner of Crescent City Cigar Shop in the French Quarter who has over 30 years’ experience in selling fine cigars.

The Royal Coach Mobile Event Lounge was renovated by R&R Rigs, a trailer fabrication and repair company in Abita Springs, and features custom construction amenities such as cherry-stained oak hardwood flooring, lacquered cherry paneling, granite countertops, ceramic tile flooring, an undermount bathroom sink and porcelain toilet in the bathroom, a hand-built bar sink, intricate, custom wood trim throughout and aesthetic lighting to highlight the interior finishes.

The lounge carries with it its own water supply, grey and black water tank and an on-board, whisper-quiet generator. For indoor use, it also has the option of converting over to “shore power” by use of an electrical cord.

The Airstream has been entirely rebuilt from the ground up including the mirror-like finish on the outside. It can handle events for approximately 50 to 80 people “onsite” which includes the inside area and underneath the covered seating area outside, but it also can be used as a service food and beverage bar allowing 300 to 500 guests to go in and out of the lounge for the duration of an event.

The Royal Coach Mobile Event Lounge is owned by Royal Coach Limousines, a family-owned and operated local company with over 18 years’ experience in the transportation business. Royal Coach Limousines rents limousines, sedans, limo buses, shuttle buses, passenger vans and stretch Expedition limos in addition to the new Mobile Event Lounge. Their main office is located on the Northshore in Mandeville, LA, and they service the entire Greater New Orleans area, as well as the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Even though the grand opening event for The Jaxson on the River is an invitation-only event, the Mobile Event Lounge can be seen on Decatur Street in front of the venue.
