New Video Pitches ‘The Beach at UNO’ to Prospective Tenants

NEW ORLEANS — The marketing team for The Beach at UNO – a research park owned by the UNO Research and Technology Foundation — has released a new promotional video to pitch the site to prospective tenants.

Established in 1997, and rebranded in 2021, The Beach encompasses 600,000 square feet of office, laboratory, and conference facilities across 30 acres of lakefront real estate adjacent to the campus of the University of New Orleans. The site currently has 44 tenants that account for about 1,000 employees.

“This center for cutting-edge ideas and initiatives is dedicated to fostering groundbreaking research, scholarship, and commercialization activities,” said a spokesperson for The Beach. “This is where private businesses, nonprofits and government entities converge, complementing the university’s assets and representing various sectors, including engineering, environmental resilience, criminal justice reform, IT and STEM education.”

The Beach’s tenants collaborate on joint proposals, collaborative research endeavors, and workforce support projects with UNO. An internal team facilitates connections between the university, research park tenants, and the broader business community.

Changes are in the works. An upcoming renovation will transform the Lindy Boggs Conference Center into The Sandbox, a space that will be designed to facilitate collaboration and innovation among tenants and partners. The project is in the design and development phase now with a late 2025/early 2026 targeted completion date. EskewDumezRipple is the architect.

The Sandbox will be the home of Louisiana Future Energy operations, an U.S. Economic Development Administration-funded hub for clean energy partners
