NEW ORLEANS — Millennials have a noticeable impact on population dynamics as they are bound to become the largest generation in recent history. To find out the millennial-magnet areas, RENTCafé ranked the ZIP codes in the 30 largest US cities by the increase in population, share, and overall number, of renters in this age group.
Here are the highlights for New Orleans–Metairie Metropolitan area:

- New Orleans ZIP code 70112 is the most attractive in Louisiana. Here the Generation Y renter share increased by 25.7%, now counting 51% of the population in the area.
- Second is ZIP code 70130, marking a 22% increase. The percentage of Millennial renters in the area climbed to 46%.
- The up and coming ZIP codes in Metairie are 70005 and 70006, with increases of 13.8% and 10.4% respectively. In these two areas, the proportion of Millennial renters reached 26% and 29% respectively.
