SLIDELL, La. (AP) — Sunday marks a changing of the government guard in Slidell, St. Tammany Parish's largest municipality, as a new mayor and City Council members officially begin their terms.
NOLA.com/The Times-Picyaune reports Mayor-elect Greg Cromer, Police Chief Randy Fandal and several council members took their oaths of office after Tuesday's council meeting. A larger, formal inauguration is scheduled July 7 at Slidell Municipal Auditorium.
