NEW ORLEANS — A new report released by Apartment List digs into historic data on new residential construction to better understand the trends in multifamily. In the report, New Orleans ranks #49 in per-capita spending on multifamily construction.
Here are some additional highlights:
- From 2000 through 2016, $1.7 billion was spent on new multifamily construction in the New Orleans metro, ranking No. 45 of the 50 largest metros.
- Controlling for population, the New Orleans metro ranks No. 49 of the 50 largest metros in per-capita multifamily spend.
- From 2000 to 2016, the share of new residential construction spending in the New Orleans metro going to multifamily increased from 7 percent to 7 percent.
