In 2015, Krewes for Karnival's First Responders raised $50,000 to purchase Wireless – Hands Free Communicators for 200 motorcycle NOPD officers.

Krewes for Karnival’s First Responders is an organization comprised of the New Orleans Parading Mardi Gras Krewes that wish to give back to the First Responders for all they do for the Krewes and the public during the Carnival season. During the two week period of Mardi Gras the men and women of the New Orleans Police Department, New Orleans Fire Department and the New Orleans Emergency Medical Service work many hours overtime and spend many hours away from their families. They all do this to protect the revelers along the parade route and members of the Krewes, organizers said.
