New Orleans Law Firm to Merge with Memphis-Based Firm

NEW ORLEANS — Phelps Dunbar and Memphis-based Farris Bobango have announced plans to merge beginning Feb. 1. The law firms will operate under the name Phelps Dunbar.

In a press release, a spokesperson said the alliance will form “one of the South’s largest law firms with 400 lawyers located in 14 cities across the southern United States.”

“The quality of the Farris Bobango lawyers, their practice areas and clients are a super match for us,”  said Phelps’ Managing Partner Marshall Redmon in the release. “So, too, is the complementary Tennessee market, which has long been of strategic interest to us given the state’s leadership in attracting early stage and emerging companies and the support for advanced manufacturing, healthcare and the critical role Tennessee plays in transportation for a wide range of industries. We found in Farris Bobango a firm with strong client relationships and the same passion and commitment for helping clients succeed.”
