NEW ORLEANS – The 62nd Annual New Orleans Home & Garden Show, the largest consumer home show in the southeastern United States, will take place from March 10 – 12 at The Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
The New Orleans Home & Garden Show will bring a variety of home-related services and products under one gigantic roof with everything needed for home automation, remodeling, outdoor living, decorating and landscaping.
This year’s focus is on home automation and technology. The Home show will feature everything from ideas on how to retrofit a residence with the latest in home automation, to building that plush outdoor living space complete with a full kitchen, pool and gazebo for entertaining guests.
By the year 2020, the number of new smart homes is expected to reach 17.8 million. For those locals with smart homes or those looking for home automation features, there will be an introduction of a number of high-tech products at this year’s show.
Among the features this year:
• The Ultimate Outdoor Living Space – This year’s featured sponsor, ClearWater Pool & Spa, will have the ultimate outdoor kitchen complete with a fireplace, outdoor entertainment system and a grill featuring a power burner for boiling seafood.
• Love those incredible pools and waterfalls you see in Vegas or at Disneyland? Well, local expert and builder Scott Staimple with Tropical Pools & Palms will surely “wow” you with his custom-built grand waterfall with adjoining lagoon pool. This outdoor oasis will be inside the Dome and is among the ‘must see’ features this year.
• PEMBA Lighting and Automation will feature the latest in lighting and technology that makes running your home as easy as taking out your smart phone. With today’s technology and smartphone apps, you can now lock your door, turn on the lights and much more with just a few swipes on hour phone.
• Dynamic Audio Video is also introducing new home automation, especially with a focus on home entertainment. Equipment Included this year is a new Laser Projector System. Typically, you have to mount projection systems on a back wall, but with this new laser technology, the projector can sit on a piece furniture right in front of a screen; it will project a 120-inch image within 6-inches of the screen.
• The New Orleans Home & Garden Show is also bringing in the newest in big screen TV’s that can be used outside. It’s an outdoor theatre system, as featuring an amazing stealth 103” television that is in an enclosed, waterproof case. The TV is just part of the entertainment system, that also includes built-in waterproof speakers as well as surround sound. Entertainment packages for this new technology starts at $69,000.
• Dumpster Diving: Local artisan Benjamin Bullins was such a hit, he’s back! Work alongside one of New Orleans’ most unique artisans, who will bring a dumpster filled with simple items you’ll learn how to turn into something wonderful for your home.
• Delectable cooking demonstrations and tastings by local chefs who participate in the Eat Fit NOLA program. The chefs will be cooking up and serving some mouthwatering dishes throughout the show.
• Family-Friendly Features include an 18 ft.-high giant inflatable soccer dart board where kids can kick Velcro covered soccer balls as if they were playing darts; Bark Park with dozens of adoptable puppies; and, face painting.
• There will be well over 200 vendors showcasing the latest products and services for your home, garden and outdoor living space.
